Glasgow Kelvin College is delighted to invite applications from existing staff for the role of Senior Community Learning & Development Worker.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated practitioner to play a leading role in the coordination, delivery and development of Community Learning and Development (CLD) provision across the College. Working closely with the CLD Manager and wider Community team, you will help shape and deliver high-quality programmes that support young people and communities to achieve positive educational, personal and social outcomes.
The successful candidate will contribute to a range of programmes including Youth Access, Youth Start and Supported Programmes, providing guidance and support to learners while promoting innovative and effective CLD practice.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior CLD Worker, you will:
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of youth work and community learning activities.
- Support young people to overcome barriers to participation, learning and progression.
- Promote safe, inclusive and trauma-informed practice.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with schools, local authorities, community organisations and external agencies.
- Support programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to the sharing of best practice across the team.
- Champion learner voice and community engagement initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will have:
- An HNC (SCQF Level 7) or above in Community Learning and Development, Youth Work or a related discipline.
- Experience of delivering Community Learning and Development services.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and partnership-working skills.
- Experience of developing innovative approaches to engage learners and communities.
- Strong organisational, reporting and ICT skills.
- A commitment to inclusion, equality and learner-centred practice.
