We deliver high-quality programmes, from introductory to degree level, to around 15,000 students each year from three campus buildings in the North and Northeast of Glasgow and through a large network of community-based centres. Job Description:

As part of the Advice, Guidance and Learner Support Team the post-holder will deliver and coordinate a range of wellbeing interventions and activities to support existing, new and returning students.

Key Responsibilities:

The Wellbeing Officer develops and supports a culture of wellbeing support for learners attending college offering drop-in service as part of the wider team to ensure all learners feel safe in post lockdown campus settings. They will closely work with Student Counsellors, Guidance Advisors as well as the Learner Engagement Officer and Student Association to promote health and wellbeing throughout the academic year to raise awareness amongst the students.

The Wellbeing Officer will be the first point of contact for the Wellbeing Support area, providing a high standard of service information and advice on its procedures to students, staff and external agencies.

They will work as part of a student support service team and with the curriculum staff, they will provide support to students at risk of leaving programmes due to health and wellbeing issues. They will also assist developing the Student Wellbeing area web site area with online tools linked to student online courses, providing statistics and financial records as required and to liaise with all college services and external partners to ensure students receive the appropriate support.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

The post holder should possess or working towards an HNC in the relevant subject (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent and should have knowledge of the Further Education Sector.

Skills and Competencies

The post holder should have good levels of computer literacy including a working knowledge of Microsoft. They should have good interpersonal and communications skills, ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a Team and the ability to travel and occasionally work in the evenings and weekends.

Experience:

The post-holder will have previous experience working in a Mental health/Wellbeing environment as well as previous experience working in a role that supports students.
