DEPARTMENT OF AUTOMOTIVE STUDIES

Lecturer – Automotive Heavy Vehicle (Bus and Truck) 

35 hours per week

£35,170-43,357 per annum pro rata

Temporary until June 2023

The Department of Automotive Studies is currently looking for a Heavy Vehicle (HV) Lecturer, who will contribute to the delivery and development across the level of HV courses we offer, including: SCQF level 3, 5 & 7.

You must be qualified to a minimum SCQF level 7 (SVQ 3 or HNC level) or an equivalent level of qualification in an appropriate field. Ideally, you will have experience in delivering and developing the Further Education curriculum and possession of a teaching qualification is desirable. Assessor and / or verifier units, would also be desirable. 

Industrial experience in Automotive Heavy Vehicles and knowledge of the relevant National Occupational Standards systems is essential for this post, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines. You will also be required to use IMI E-portfolio and Microsoft Teams assignments for HV qualifications.

Candidates must be highly motivated, organised and possess excellent communication skills. Candidates must also demonstrate initiative, team working skills and digital literacy.

The role will be based at our Motherwell Campus.
