Working Hours: - Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 22:00 and Friday 15:00 to 21:30
A vacancy for a Catering Workshop Assistant has become available at the Aberdeen City Campus. Reporting to the Curriculum Manager you will be required to provide support and assistance to College Staff, Students and external clients in the Catering section.
You will be required to issue and return materials and equipment from stock for use by lecturers and students day to day. Receiving and inspecting incoming supplies and storage of materials. Ensuring they are stored safely, reporting any discrepancies, maintaining correct stock levels, packing and despatching any goods for return and/or repair. You will maintain equipment ensuring the catering areas are in a tidy and safe condition. You will also be required to control and keep petty cash records and monies when required.
You should be educated to standard grade level or equivalent with a willingness to undertake training in safe working practices and you should have evidence of Continuous Professional Development. The successful candidate will have a basic knowledge of catering tasks, equipment and material along with safe working arrangements. You will require the ability to develop positive working relationships and be able to work on your own initiative and without supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum National 5 Qualifications or equivalent (SCQF Level 5)
- *Relevant certificate in Food Safety Practices & HACCP and/or willingness to undergo formal training and certification
- Evidence of continuous professional development
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of storekeeping practice
- Basic knowledge of foodstuffs
- Experience of stock control
- Experience of online ordering systems
- *Some experience of food/catering/bakery industry.
