Estates Officer (Ref A115)
Full-time/Permanent/Aberdeen City Campus
Salary: £43,974.32 – £46,336.29 per annum

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Estates Officer to support the delivery of estates operations, maintenance, and compliance activities across the College. This is an important operational role that will help ensure our campuses provide safe, compliant, and high-quality environments.

Working closely with the Estates Manager and Facilities Management Team, you will oversee the day-to-day condition, operation, and presentation of College buildings and external areas across all campuses, including supporting compliance activities. You will support the planning and coordination of maintenance, refurbishment, and minor works projects, ensuring activities are delivered efficiently and safely.

Candidates should possess a recognised trade qualification or significant relevant work experience, together with evidence of continued professional development. Experience of building services, estates maintenance, contractor management, and health and safety procedures is essential. A BIFM Level 6 qualification, NEBOSH Diploma, or membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.

The role requires the ability to travel regularly between College sites and work flexibly to meet the needs of the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognised trade qualifications or relevant work experience. CSCS Gold Card or ECS Gold Card (typically aligned to SCQF Level 6)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • BIFM Level 6 qualification or NEBOSH Diploma*
  • Member of the Institute of Facilities Management or equivalent*

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience and strong knowledge of building services and maintenance practices.
  • Significant relevant experience of the operation of health and safety procedures, including risk assessments.
  • A good understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to facility and estates management.
  • Experience managing contractors, work quality and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage productive relationships with external contractors and service providers, ensuring high standards and value for money.
  • Knowledge of the FE sector, in facility management.*
  • Experienced working in the public sector including budget control and governance constraints.*

  • Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills with ability to successfully translate and communicate highly complex information to a range of audiences.
