Finance Assistant (Ref A139)

Full-time/Permanent/Aberdeen City Campus

Salary: £34,538.18 – 36,712.48 per annum

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-focused Finance Assistant to support the delivery of an efficient and effective financial management service across the College. This is an important role within the Finance team, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for cash handling and the accounts payable process. This includes processing supplier invoices and credit notes, preparing journals, and ensuring financial systems and procedures are followed correctly.

Candidates should have Higher Maths, Accounts or relevant professional experience, together with a background in a finance or accounts environment and a good understanding of financial systems and procedures. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and competence in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Teams, Outlook and Word, are essential. Experience supporting systems or process improvements are desirable.

The role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team, use initiative, and work with minimal supervision, along with the flexibility to travel between college sites. A commitment to professional development and the College's values of equality, diversity and respect is essential.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering a high-quality service while building positive working relationships.

This is a full-time role; however, flexible working arrangements are available, and applications from exceptional candidates seeking a four-day working week will be considered. We would also welcome applications from candidates interested in undertaking a Graduate Apprenticeship alongside the role.

If you are an organised and proactive finance professional with excellent attention to detail, we would welcome your application.

Deadline for applications: Sunday 6th September 2026.
