Student Support Tutor (Ref. No. A1009)
Full Time/Permanent/Aberdeen City Campus
Salary: £40,076.43 - £43,206.01 per annum
We are seeking two motivated and committed Student Support Tutors to join our Student Support Team. Reporting to the Student Support Manager, you will work as part of the Student Advice and Support Team, delivering high quality, student centered support services to students at the college.
Student Support Tutors work closely with curriculum colleagues to help ensure learners are able to engage successfully with their studies. The role involves providing wellbeing and learning support, carrying out support needs assessments, alternative assessment arrangements and contributing to inclusive and trauma informed approaches that reduce barriers to learning. You will also support learners with employability, progression, and transitions at key points in their learning journey. Working within establish procedures, you will help identify reasonable adjustments and support strategies that promote independence, dignity and positive outcomes.
You should be qualified to HNC/SVQ Level III and hold a PDA in Strategies to Facilitate Inclusiveness in Learning and Work at SCQF level 9 (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
Previous experience of delivering learning support within adult education and of working with students in a variety of settings is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS
- An HNC/SVQ Level III qualification (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent
- PDA in Strategies to facilitate Inclusiveness in Learning and Work at SCQF level 9 (appropriate elements of) (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
- Evidence of continuing professional development
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Experience of supporting students through a support related process
- Experience of delivering learning support within adult education
- Experience of working with students in a variety of settings
- Experience of new technology to enhance the learning experience
- Experience of presenting information
