Technician (Joinery) (Ref A996)
Full Time/Permanent/Altens Campus
Salary: £38,442.62 - £41,444.62 per annum
We are seeking a highly organised and conscientious individual to provide technical support for staff, learners and external clients, primarily in the Joinery area, within our technical support team.
Candidates should have strong technical knowledge of Joinery practices as well as the ability to work on their own initiative, collaborate and engage with the teaching teams and be adaptable to planning workloads and using online electronic procurement systems.
The ability to meet regular deadlines within a customer focused environment is an essential quality in undertaking this busy and varied role.
Candidates should have experience of providing high quality support, with the ability to cut and prepare materials using a variety of joinery machinery and fault find / maintain / repair those machines where necessary.
We are looking for candidates to hold a SVQIII level in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent) qualification or demonstrate relevant equivalent industry experience.
Knowledge of the technology used in a learning environment would be desirable but is not necessary.
Please note, an element of heavy manual handling & practical work is to be expected as part of this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum SVQIII level in Carpentry and Joinery (SCQF Level 6 or equivalent)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- *Up to 3 years post apprenticeship experience in the construction industry.
- *Experience in use and general maintenance of wood machinery.
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
- *Knowledge of current safety legislation, construction practices and procedures.
