Health & Safety Officer
Hours: 35 hours
Contract: Permanent full-time

Salary: Grade 5 Point 22-27
£29,201 to £33,753 (pay award pending/subject to pending job evaluation)
West Lothian College is looking to appoint a new Health and Safety Officer. In this role, you will continue existing work to embed a positive health and safety culture for our staff, students and visitors. This includes leading our first aid team and college action on the Prevent duty. As part of your duties, you will provide health and safety advice and guidance, identify training needs, undertake accident investigations and prepare regular reports. Although this is a standalone role you will work closely with a number of different stakeholders across the college so must be able to demonstrate a track record of working effectively with peers and senior colleagues to achieve your operational plans.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma Level (SCQF Level 10) or equivalent and will have experience working in a health and safety role. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
Those shortlisted will be required to undertake a competency and values-based interview as well as give a short presentation to the panel. Details of the topic will be provided prior to interview.
