Lecturer - Motor Vehicle 

Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment 

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 8.75 hours per week

Salary: £41,833 - £50,359 pro rata, per annum (dependent on experience)

 

West Lothian College are looking to appoint an outstanding lecturer who will demonstrate the necessary commitment and enthusiasm to contribute to their team. The successful lecturer will be part of the Computing, Engineering & the Built Environment faculty and will develop and teach the next generation of motor mechanics.  You will be committed to the delivery of high-quality teaching and a varied learning experience, focussed on progression and employability.

Applications are invited to contribute to the delivery and assessment of a range of courses from SCQF Level 4 to Level 7. You will develop course materials for online and face to face learning, work flexibly and collaborate effectively with other members of the College.  

With a proven track record and experience, you will deliver and assess programmes of learning from SCQF Level 4 up to Higher National Certificate and Apprentice Training Programmes. You will be responsible for developing and delivering programmes which include new technologies to encourage, enthuse, excite and develop learners to a high level using a wide range of delivery methods.

 

The successful candidate should be educated to at least SCQF Level 7 and be time served Motor Vehicle Mechanic.  The ideal candidate will have a Teaching Qualification and have the following qualifications: L&D9D,L&D9DI &  L&D11.   Also, they will be able to engage with learners of different levels and abilities and be committed to a culture of continuous improvement. Delivering to a high standard of quality within given time frames is required.

Candidates that have been selected for interview will be required to prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation and undertake a competency-based interview.
