New Scots
New Scots
We believe that refugees and people seeking asylum should be welcomed and supported to integrate into our communities from day one. The New Scots refugee integration strategy sets out a vision of a welcoming Scotland where people are able to rebuild their lives when arriving in Scotland. You can find supporting information and guidance on our TURAS Learn site for New Scots.
The New Scots approach, in place for over a decade, has established strategies that support people seeking protection from persecution and human rights abuse, along with continued support for refugees and people seeking asylum.
The Turas Learn section for New Scots was developed specifically for overseas workers, asylum seekers and refugees who would like to live and work in Scotland. The section provides advice in looking for the right job, gives guidance on the application and interview processes, and provides useful tips for successfully transitioning to living and working in Scotland.
You can find guides and support online at our Turas site, which we will continue to develop with new resources.
