Hours: 36hr per week (Monday to Friday). We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours and flexible working arrangements can be considered.

Location: At one of our sites (Glenrothes, Dunfermline, Ladybank) upon discussion (but may be required to travel to other facilities within Fife and further afield). There will be opportunities to work from home alongside site -based working to meet business needs and service delivery.

Salary: FC7 £34,914.86– £43,437.09.91 (£18.60 - £23.14 per hour) / FC8 £43,437.09 - £47,604.34 (£23.14 - £25.36). Salary placement will depend on experience.

Who we are

We are an Arms Length External Organisations (ALEO) of Fife Council and a key leader in waste and resource management across Scotland who provide high quality services to public sector, commercial and domestic clients. We create and deliver sustainable solutions to the challenges our customers face.

With a workforce of more than 200 people we undertake waste management activities and handle over 400,000 tonnes of waste and recyclable materials per year. We operate: Material Recovery Facilities; an Anaerobic Digestion Plant, Aerobic composting operations, 11 household waste recycling centres, around 300 multi-material recycling points, fuel production, landfill gas recovery, combined heat & power plant, district heating, landfill sites, leachate treatment facilities and all the associated logistics and support for these business operations.

Position details

We are looking for an experienced and skilled HR Adviser to join our team in a fast-paced, and interesting commercial environment.

Reporting directly to the HR Manager you will have extensive up to date employment law and case management knowledge and expertise. This role will be responsible for delivering all aspects of HR across the organisation, advising on day-to-day operational matters, develop and update HR policies as well as supporting and coaching managers in the deployment of sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management and workforce change procedures, delivering HR training and improve our access to employee benefits. An excellent and confident communicator you will be required to successfully manage some difficult employer stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes for the business.

Who we are looking for

You will have experience in a similar role in a busy and complex HR environment and be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related field, and Chartered Member of CIPD qualification (for FC8) or working towards CIPD qualification (for FC7).
