Job Description

The Improvement Service is looking to recruit a part-time Planning Improvement Officer to join the National Planning Improvement team.

This role will give you the opportunity to support the development of the new National Planning Improvement Framework, work with planning authorities across Scotland and key national stakeholders, and work in a small team delivering this exciting and ground-breaking work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate, early career professional, or the ideal role to give you experience alongside completing your planning masters.

We are looking for someone who can champion our work, engage effectively with stakeholders and support planning authorities to tackle self-identified areas of improvement.

Information

Location:  West Lothian Council Civic Centre, Howden South Road, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 6FF

It is anticipated that the role will involve a blended model of office and home working. This flexible approach will be agreed between employee and line manager.

Duration of Contract:  Fixed term contract until 31 March 2025, with possibility of extension. 

Hours:  Part time, 21 hours per week.  Hours can be worked flexibly in agreement with the Line Manager.
