The Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA) is an independent statutory body at the heart of the Children’s Hearings System, working alongside partners to protect Scotland’s most vulnerable children and young people. Rooted in our Values of being supportive, child‑centred, respectful and accountable, we are committed to compassion, fairness and inclusion in everything we do.

At SCRA, we are committed to being a socially inclusive employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including those who are disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, from minority ethnic communities, care‑experienced, and from all socio‑economic backgrounds, as well as people from groups that continue to be under‑represented in our workforce. We believe that bringing together different perspectives strengthens our work and helps us serve Scotland’s children and young people with compassion and integrity.

About the Role

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Officer delivers a responsive, professional and impactful EDI service across SCRA. Working closely with the Inclusion & Learning Manager and colleagues across Localities, HR, Practice and corporate teams, you will help embed inclusive practice, support compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duties and contribute to statutory reporting and organisational improvement.

Key aspects of the role include coordinating EDI action plans; supporting Equality and Human Rights Impact Assessments; leading on workforce and service‑delivery equality data collection and analysis; and providing practical, evidence‑informed advice to help colleagues make inclusive decisions. You will work sensitively and constructively with colleagues at all levels, promoting a culture where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued.

As with all roles at SCRA, you will be expected to demonstrate behaviours consistent with our Values and our Inclusive Standards and Behaviours Framework.

SCRA operates an agile working policy, with regular attendance at our Stirling office expected. While regular presence in your contractual office base is expected, there is flexibility to work in a hybrid way in line with organisational needs.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience delivering EDI activity in a public, voluntary, social‑justice or rights‑based context
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, Public Sector Equality Duties and inclusive practice
  • Skills in analysing, interpreting and presenting equality data
  • Experience supporting policy development or producing inclusion‑focused guidance
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities
  • Confidence in using Microsoft 365 and other digital tools
  • A strong commitment to SCRA’s Values and to modelling inclusive behaviours

If you meet most of the essential criteria but are unsure whether you meet every point, we still encourage you to apply.

We Offer

SCRA is committed to supporting your professional growth, wellbeing and work-life balance. You will benefit from:

  • Comprehensive learning and development opportunities
  • An inclusive culture and supportive working environment
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and a competitive salary

If you share our Values, this role offers a truly meaningful opportunity to contribute and support a positive future for children and young people across Scotland.

Applications for this post must be made through SCRA’s website where you will find details of all current vacancies.
