This is a great opportunity to join a small dynamic team making a real difference to transport in the South East of Scotland.
New legislation and strategies, rapid societal shift and advances in technology are bringing forward significant changes for transport, economy and land use. In response, SEStran has developed a Regional Transport Strategy (RTS), in collaboration with a number of partners and other stakeholders, that sets out a clear framework for how transport and mobility will be provided, developed and improved in our region.
SEStran (South East Scotland Transport Partnership) is one of seven Regional Transport Partnerships (RTPs) in Scotland. The SEStran region incorporates the City of Edinburgh, Clackmannanshire, East Lothian, Falkirk, Fife, Midlothian, Scottish Borders, and West Lothian. It has a population of over 1.5 million people, which represents 24% of the Scottish population.
The successful applicant will work with our partners to ensure that the RTS is successfully implemented, and that its vision is realised.
A key part of this role will be to promote the role of RTPs and develop positive messaging around the projects and strategies that we deliver.
