Tayside Contracts are recruiting a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead an experienced team of workshop professionals at their four Workshops strategically located across Tayside. The post reports to the Transport Services Manager and is a key role within the Transport management team.

Tayside Contracts maintains a diverse fleet which encompasses around 600 units of Tayside Contracts vehicles and plant and around a further 500 for Angus Council as well as a number of vehicles for other clients.

You will be responsible for overseeing the organisation and management of the four workshops, ensuring that professional standards of work and legal compliance are continuously achieved and maintained, that standards of workshop efficiency and productivity are optimised, downtime minimised and financial targets are achieved.

You will have experience of supervising a large team, ideally in a vehicle workshop environment, be self motivated, have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and have the ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders including internal and external customers.

Your background will be as a time served heavy goods mechanic, or similar, and you will hold a Certificate of Professional Competence as well as a Category C Driving Licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain.

Experience in using a computerised fleet management system such as Fleetwave and an extensive knowledge of current vehicle legislation is also essential.

Based at our headquarters at Contracts House, Soutar Street, Dundee you will be required to work Monday to Thursday (7.30am – 3.30pm) and Friday (7.30am – 3.00pm), although there is some flexibility around this. However, you will also be required to be flexible as the workshops operate varying early / late / night shift systems.

You are required to visit various locations therefore access to a motor vehicle is essential. Mileage rates are paid accordingly.

We offer a competitive salary of £46,804.47 rising to £51,164.66 (salary placing is dependent on skills and experience). A pay award is pending.
