Reporting to the Strategic Lead – Construction, the successful applicant will lead, manage and maintain the partnership Council's adopted road asset in accordance with its statutory duties and provide a comprehensive, high quality, cost-effective range of road maintenance services (including overseeing access to the adopted network) from design through to construction and maintenance.

In addition, the successful applicant will contribute to the formulation and implementation of business strategies and provide leadership, support and direction to staff to ensure effective performance delivery of the Partnership's key objectives.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a positive approach and good interpersonal skills. You should be creative, innovative, adaptable and willing to consider new ways of working, be a team builder and are goal orientated.

You will possess an HNC/SVQ Level 5/in a Construction related subject or equivalent and have experience of managing a road maintenance unit at a senior level with budgetary/financial control responsibility and significant experience of working within the roads maintenance industry on the design and construction of roads.

You will have the ability to operate at strategic level and lead on corporate initiatives, policy development, implementation and review.

You will have a well-developed leadership style and have the ability to work successfully as part of a team, establish effective working relationships and successfully motivate other employees within a variety of settings.

A Category B Driving Licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain and access to a motor vehicle, or otherwise able to meet the requirement to travel efficiently to other locations is essential.
