We are looking for a highly motivated, inspirational individual to lead our Transport Services Unit. As the Transport Services Manager you will be responsible for leading, managing and effectively organising the Transport Services Unit and associated assets across four operational workshops, ensuring that professional standards of work are maintained, service standards are achieved, and resources are deployed efficiently and effectively. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the formulation and implementation of business strategies and provide leadership, support and direction to staff to ensure effective performance delivery of the Transport Units key objectives.

You will have extensive experience of leading a transport/fleet service at a senior level with budgetary/financial control and responsibility, along with up to date working knowledge of transport services issues and the relevant legislation.

You will also have the ability to operate at strategic level and lead on corporate initiatives, policy development, implementation and review, along with having HR experience in dealing with investigations/disciplinary hearing etc.

You will have concise and persuasive verbal and written communication skills, strong IT skills, especially of computerised Fleet Management System, report writing and financial management skills including the ability to lead the preparation, monitoring and control of budgets.

You will also require to have the following abilities and skills:

You will be qualified to Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence level and have a recognised professional and management qualification.

A minimum of a Category B driving licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain is required.
