This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working for the Council’s Regulatory Services team in a very challenging yet beautiful part of Scotland. The post will be based in one of the offices in Argyll and Bute, depending on the successful candidate and service requirements and will require travelling throughout the area. You will be supported to complete the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland structured professional training program with the aim of presenting for the REHIS Diploma in  Environmental Health in February 2025. We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health, support , coaching and the opportunity for professional development. Consideration will be given to applications from newly qualified Environmental Health Officer, these aiming to sit their professional interview in 2024, (as opposed to 2023).

We will provide you with varied workload in all areas of environmental health, hybrid working and opportunities for professional and personal development. Applicants should hold the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Diploma in Environmental Health or have received confirmation from REHIS of the equivalency of their qualifications.

Consideration will be given to applications from newly qualified Environmental Health Officers and those intending to sit their professional interviews in 2024 . Candidates who require to complete the REHIS professional structured training and sit the professional diploma will be placed in a Graduate Trainee EHO role (£30,020- 32629)until achievement of the REHIS Diploma and provided with support and training. In cases where there is only minimal training specified by REHIS in their eligibility assessment, the candidate may be placed in the Regulatory Services Officer post (£33578-37538) and progress to EHO on successfully completion.
