PA to Provost

 

Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Member Services Section of Finance & Resources. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in being part of our team.

 

We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective support service to the Provost and Depute Provost. You will deal with members’ correspondence and progress enquiries on their behalf, including enquiries from members of the public; maintain very busy diaries and arrange meetings as required; maintain filing systems; liaise with other elected members, council departments and outside agencies; and assist in the organisation and management of civic events.

 

It is essential you have a knowledge of the political and board structure for the Council together with experience in a secretarial/pa position within the last three years working extensively with Office 365. You should also have effective communication and interpersonal skills. You must also be able to plan and organise your own workload, meet deadlines and use your own initiative when making decisions. Knowledge in organising events of a civic or charitable nature is also essential along with a flexible approach to evening and weekend working if required.

 

A recognised qualification in Secretarial, PA or Administration related subject is desirable as is knowledge of the role and functions of a local authority and experience in handling Council policy papers. You may also be required to work remotely and therefore a working knowledge of Microsoft teams is also desirable.
