Labourer (Fleet)

We are looking for a Labourer to join us as part of the Fleet Workshop team based at Underwood Road Depot, Paisley.

The role is to undertake all activities specifically related to the day-to-day functioning of a range of Fleet Services operations e.g. assisting Fleet Engineers, general housekeeping duties of the garage workshop and depot, driving vehicles including HGVs, washing and cleaning vehicles and parking of vehicles in depot amongst other duties.

You will be responsible for the vehicles assigned to you; these predominately include 3.5-ton and 7.5-ton specialist vehicles. You will be an experienced driver capable of driving multiple vehicles in varied size and will have experience and capabilities in manoeuvring / parking in severely restricted spaces.

It is essential you have relevant experience of assisting colleagues in a workshop environment and driving light, heavy and specialised vehicles which requires you to hold a Valid UK Category C Driving Licence.

You must have basic literacy and numeracy skills as well as effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to work and the ability to use your initiative, work on own and/or as part of team.

You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions carrying out manual work including labouring duties within a Monday to Friday shift pattern.
