Stirling Council are currently seeking a detail oriented, technical, Corporate Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This is a temporary post to provide maternity cover.

As a Corporate Accountant, you will provide a comprehensive accountancy support service to a range of customers across the finance department and the wider council teams. Working for a local authority is challenging but rewarding and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of activities and projects

This includes playing a key role in the delivery of council’s corporate finance functions including capital, treasury management, VAT; the year-end accounts preparation in accordance with the Accounting Code of Practice; maintaining the fixed asset register, asset valuations and providing specialist advice on capital accounting and capital financing.

You will have responsibility for preparing budgets and supporting the wider corporate team to provide support, resilience and segregation of duties across the key functional areas.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant, with demonstrable post qualification experience and continued professional development in these key areas. This will include a combination of finance, systems, analytical and personal skills to deliver an effective corporate finance function to meet current and future business needs. Experience of Oracle Fusion would be advantageous.
