We are looking for an Accountant (Systems) to join our finance, accounting and budgeting service to provide excellent financial systems support to promote Stirling’s ambitions to deliver the best outcomes for our communities.

You will provide a comprehensive accountancy and system support service to a range of customers across the finance team and to the wider Council.

You will be the professional finance lead for key Council finance systems including the main finance system (Oracle Fusion Cloud) and will be responsible for maximising efficiency and effectiveness of financial business processes.

You will lead on ensuring financial systems are efficient, accurate, controlled and aligned to Council priorities ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.

This is also an opportunity to review and develop current processes and practices to enhance service outcomes through best practice, benchmarking analysis and key financial drivers.

Reporting to the Team Leader Finance. you will act as the key liaison between finance, IT and business change teams and to partner with other services regarding interfaces from feeder systems, upgrades and integrations, training and development, financial reporting and analyses, internal controls and compliance

You will contribute to the council’s financial planning and the production of year end accounts and deputise for the Service Manager Finance, attending and advising a range of stakeholders including councillors and committees, and the council’s management team.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant, with post qualification experience and continued professional development in these key areas and will also be able to demonstrate experience of delivering professional financial support services. This will include a combination of finance, system, analytical and personal skills to optimise the system and develop it as part of the wider team, for current and future business needs. Experience of Oracle Fusion would be advantageous.
