An exciting opportunity has opened up to join Stirling Council’s Executive Office and Communications Service as a Senior Communications Officer.

We’re looking for someone with the right experience to hit the ground running, coupled with the passion, skills and drive to help the council achieve its strategic objectives and create engaged, empowered and thriving communities.

As part of the Communications Team that sits within the Executive Office and Communications Service, you will be at the heart of the council and support services across the organisation as well as key partners.

You will ensure that council publicity, promotion and communications activity is planned, consistent, high-quality and in line with appropriate policies and regulations.

You will be a storyteller that can create clear and compelling content for various audiences, develop and execute comprehensive communications plans and lead on campaigns.

An ability for using a wide range of digital channels, including social media, is essential along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will have proven experience of media relations and be expected to handle media enquiries, seek out proactive opportunities for publicity and advise staff and partners on communications activity.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will need to be well organised, be able to prioritise tasks and have a ‘can do’ attitude, providing creative and innovative solutions to maximise positive coverage and reach. You will also be a natural team player and have strong interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake Level 1 Disclosure check. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be asked to complete the form and have your details verified.
