We are looking to recruit a fixed term Trainee Valuer (£35,751-£42,759 pro rata) for a period of 12 months, on a full time or part time basis. This vacancy would suit candidates seeking an opportunity to gain experience in property survey and valuation in a positive and supportive environment.

Who we are

Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas and is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for the three Councils. The Board employs approximately 50 people and our office is at Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ. Further information about the Board is available at www.saa.gov.uk/central/

What the job is

The successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, the negotiation of appeals with council taxpayers, ratepayers and professional agents and shall assist with the preparation of evidence for cases that proceed to the Local Taxation Chamber of the First Tier Tribunal.

What the qualification requirements are

Applications are invited from Graduates with an RICS accredited degree or candidates with relevant experience in an Assessors Service or equivalent experience in the land and property sector who possess the entry requirements for the BSc in Real Estate Management at the College of Estate Management, or another similar RICS accredited qualification.

Consideration will also be given to candidates who meet the entry qualifications for the postgraduate MSC in Real Estate at CEM.
